Following on from the theme of this year's AGM of "Facing the Future", the Society has embarked on the first phase of providing its branches the opportunity to record their work using computers.
Over 50 SVP Treasurers from every area in NI got the chance to get a 'look and feel' for the new 'test' financial recording system. The first session took place in the Tower Hotel in Derry home of regional president Cormac Wilson who commented:-
"Everyone gathered here today should be proud to be amongst the first to help take the Society into the digital era. This new tool will allow us to record and report, more accurately than ever, on the work we carry out for those we serve"
Members who attended information sessions in Derry, Belfast and Armagh will have the unique opportunity to provide feedback, through a broad consultation process, before the system goes 'live' next year.

Further training sessions have been planned over the coming months, not only at our three regional training centres, but also through our network of shops and offices. We hope this new initiative will also attract new and younger members with the necessary IT skills and experience to play a meaningful role in the Society of St Vincent de Paul as we face the future and embrace this new technology.
