Launch of 2008 Annual Report

<<<previous : next>>>

Our volunteers visit needy people throughout Northern Ireland everyday of the year and offer them help and direct emergency assistance where possible.

As you can see, from the list opposite, over £3.37 of money you donated went on helping those most in need.

The greatest increase in need was in family and individual support. Spending here increased from £902k in 2007 to over £1.8m last year. This also includes oil stamp scheme money totalling £818k.

As you can see from the graph, the amount of your money spent helping people in need over the last 20 years in Northern Ireland has risen quite dramatically. These rises have continued despite the shake-up in the welfare system, trmendous inward investment and the end of social conflict.

(Statistics are a compilation of returns from all 182 branches in towns and cities throughout Northern Ireland during 2008)

Society spends almost £3.37m of your money helping people in need throughout Northern Ireland during 2008.
