Indoor soccer marathon .....   click to enlarge Teacher in charge, Stephen Keown was on hand along with school caretaker Seamus Mulgrew to oversee operations. Whilst members of the teaching staff popped in to lend their support and join in the festivities by showcasing their singing and dancing talents through the "sing star" sing-off, they didn't partake in the soccer. Approximately 20 sixth-form students were involved in the fundraising marathon that concluded on Saturday morning at 9am.   Soccer Marathon The soccer marathon has become a fixed event in the SVP Youth calendar in St Mary's High School. It is hoped that the event will be as successful as in previous years. The students are raising money for SVP that the school itself supports throughout the year. We hope to hook up with the soccer stars soon to gain a final tally of how much was raised!!!

A group of young Vincentians from St Mary's High School in Limavady participate in over-night soccer marathon to raise money for SVP on 7th March 2008.   Although spring is on the horizon and winter is still dragging its heels, outdoor activities, or any sporting activity for that matter, are just the furthest thought from the minds of many; but not for the SVP Youth members of St Mary's High School in Limavady, Co Derry.   The energetic and charitable students set about playing their way through the night at their latest soccer marathon on Friday 7th March (some in pyjamas!)     As in pervious years, the fundraising efforts were centred in the school's youth club, where the students were duly furnished with sports hall, kitchen and lounge area where, between games, they could sing along to the "sing star" karaoke competition or indulge in Chinese or chippy fuel   Chilling out Karaoke click to enlarge   for more about SVP Youth ...click 'HERE'
