Launch of 2007 Annual Report

<<<previous : next>>>

Our volunteers visit needy people throughout Northern Ireland everyday of the year and offer them help and direct emergency assistance where possible.

As you can see, from the list opposite, almost £2.23m of money you donated went on helping those most in need.

The greatest increase in need was in family and individual support. Spending here increased from £830k in 2006 to over £902k last year. That's a rise of almost 9%; and looks set to get worse as more and more price rises are announced.

As you can see from the graph, the amount of your money spent helping people in need over the last 20 years in Northern Ireland has risen quite dramatically. These rises have continued despite the shake up in the welfare system, tremendous inward investment; housing redevelopment and the end of social conflict.

(Statistics are a compilation of returns from all 179 branches in towns and cities throughout Northern Ireland during 2007)

Society spends almost £2.23m of your money helping people in need throughout Northern Ireland during 2007.
