music on a summer evening
|
Paul was keen to combine his love of music and his admiration of St Mark's Church in order to raise money for both the Society of St Vincent de Paul and the Salvation Army; the result, a beautiful evening of summer music played by a range of young and extremely talented musicians from all over Belfast.
A huge thanks to Reverend McDowell, Peter and Rosemary Hunter and to Paul McCusker and his friends for the huge effort and commitment they made in putting this concert together and for considering both charities worthy enough.
| St Vincent de Paul and Salvation Army were joint recipients of an innovative fundraising event organised by local students on 19th June 2008 which raised £810.
"Music on a Summer Evening" was the title of the classical music concert hosted at St Mark's Church of Ireland, a stunning Church in Dundela parish in East Belfast.
The concept was the brainchild of Paul McCusker, an A-Level music student at St Malachy's College, Belfast. In addition to playing the violin, Paul is also an accomplished organist, a talent that he has been able to finely hone under the tutelage of Mr Peter Hunter, organ teacher and parishioner of St Mark's Church.

The evening was rounded off with a luxurious tea held in the Parish Hall, hosted by the ladies of St Mark's Parish.
