"We do a lot of local voluntary work in the community", explained Bronagh. "Every Thursday we attend the Long Tower Youth Centre to work at the over-50's club where we have dancing, bowling, snooker and bingo. Emma Jane and I make the tea and coffee for the members. We also do fundraising for the MS Society and the SVP".

As part of their award Emma Jane and Bronagh will travel to Althorp, stately home of the Spencer family and final resting place of Princess Diana. They were nominated for the award by their tutor Mrs Patricia McCloskey who saw their sterling work doing fundraising for the SVP and working in the local community.

The Diana Award is a non-competitive Award which celebrates the achievements of children aged 12-18 across the UK. The scheme recognised the contribution individuals or small groups make to their school or community. Since 1999 over 7,000 young people have received the Award.
