Edmund Rice Award Ceremony

Pim Street Boys

Pupils from Edmund Rice CB Primary School in Pim Street, Belfast worked with the Society of St Vincent de Paul by organising food hampers, visiting local day centres and hospitals, collecting funds at church collections and their involvement with the 'Giving Tree' at Christmas 2003.


Making a Difference

The Society's Regional Administrator had the pleasure of being guest speaker at the annual Edmund Rice Award ceremony held at the Canal Court Hotel, Newry on Thursday 6th May 2004.

The awards were given to four nominated Primary Schools (Edmund Rice CBPS Pim St and St Aidan's CBPS in Belfast and St Lawrence O'Tooles CBS and St Joseph's CBPS in Dublin) who had made a difference to the lives of thers in their community.

"St Vincent de Paul has developed into one of Ireland's leading charities and I feel this shows just how important the work of Frederic Ozanam was and like your patron Edmund Rice, Frederic's concern for other people less fortunate than himself has had a great impact in our world and has inspired many others to continue with the work they started".
