Our latest figures show
a truly appalling level of poverty here in Northern
Ireland. During 2005 the Society of St Vincent de Paul
spent a staggering £2.3m on helping people in
need.
We put great emphasis on 'self-help' and are very successful in this field. However, the need which we are frequently asked to ease is often desperate, and to be treated as an emergency, such as families with children and no money in the house, no food, and way of clothing their children. We can only pay out what we get in, and the figures above are a direct tribute to the generosity of the people who provide the money for our essential work.

Money and GoodsThere are several practical ways in which you can help the St Vincent de Paul both financially and materially. Cash donations can be made directly to your local conference at the weekly Church Door Collection or by supporting our regular Flag Days and Fundraising events held throughout the year in most provincial towns. Furniture, clothes and bric-a-brac can be donated by contacting our Furniture Store - 02890-740290 For a list of Society Shops, Offices and other activities near you 'Click Here'. Alternatively you can also make a donation through the Regional Office by posting a cheque or postal order payable to 'The Society of St Vincent de Paul', using the address opposite. During SVP Week every December we also encourage the public to support the following:-

| | One popular and innovative way to give charity is through Give as You Earn. As it is tax efficient, a £20 monthly contribution only costs you £15.60 because the government pays the rest to us in tax relief. 24kb
| | Wills & Bequests | If you would like your generosity to be felt long after you are gone, why not remember us in your Will - either contact your solicitor, or if you would like help, we can offer you a free will making service. | | | To make a Standing Order simply print out the Form opposite, and and post back to us and we will do the rest. 7kb
| | | The Gift Aid scheme allows tax payers to make regular donations to charity. You can reclaim tax relief on the amount you contribute and the Society also gets an extra 'top-up' from the Inland Revenue. 37kb
| | Credit Card | To make a visa, mastercard or switch donation - just phone our Regional Office 0n - 02890-351561 with your credit card details at hand | |

If you are an ebay user why not support SVP at the same time!
The Society of St Vincent de Paul in Northern Ireland is now registered with Ebay for Charity.

Ebay will list almost any item of value so why not clear out your garage or attic and help yourself to help us.

|
If you’re buying from ebay make a point of choosing from the selection of goods being sold in support of SVP by visiting our homepage to view what’s on offer. For every item sold a proportion of the sale proceeds – from 10% – 100% - will be donated to the Society and the listings show you how much of your money is being used for charity.
It’s a fantastic, quick and easy way to support the Society.
Ebay for Charity also allows supporters to donate all or part of the proceeds of any sales they make to help our cause.
It couldn’t be easier:-
